Penwick privacy policy

MyAutobot Ltd · last updated 13 August 2026

The short version: your child's writing, scores and profile live on your device, not on our servers. There are no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. The only data that ever leaves the device is the small, clearly-signposted referral and leaderboard information described below. The leaderboard starts switched on and you can turn it off at any time in Settings.

What stays on your device

Everything the app knows about your child is stored only on the device it was created on: names, ages, chosen interests, every writing attempt, every score, and all settings. We cannot see any of it. Deleting the app, or using Settings → Delete all data, removes it completely.

Referral codes

If you share or redeem an invite code, we record the redemption in our ledger so both families receive their free sessions. That record contains the invite code and a random installation identifier. It contains no names, no email addresses, and nothing about your child.

The weekly leaderboard (on by default, and you can switch it off)

The leaderboard is on when you set up a profile. While it is on, exactly four things are shown publicly to other Penwick users:

Never a surname, city, age, photo or anything else, so a row cannot be traced back to a particular child. To switch it off, go to Settings, Weekly leaderboard and leave the board. That stops new scores immediately. To have past entries removed as well, email us and we will delete them.

Purchases

Payments are handled entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play. We never see your payment details. The record that your family unlocked the app is stored on your device and with the store you bought it from.

Children

Penwick is designed for children aged 5 to 9, which is why the app is built to work without collecting their data. The one thing visible to others is the weekly leaderboard, and it deliberately carries nothing that could identify a child: a first name or nickname, a buddy character, a country flag and a star count. An adult can switch it off in Settings at any time.
